Be more Efficient with your Goals, To-Do list, and Targets. Customizable Template Linked!
I love having goals that almost feel unattainable yet I know they are possible. I pop out of bed running at 4:11 am with excitement for the day. This is exactly how I want to live my life; waking up excited about all that I have to do and challenging myself to do more with my day!
Often we hear the unsolicited advice to make your to-do list short, so you feel good about finishing everything on the list. That’s lazy. Push yourself. When you leave too much time in your day for empty space, you leave time to dance with the devil. As the old saying goes, be obsessed or be average.
Make a list with 2-3 targets that day for the most important tasks. Then spend 2 minutes writing out everything else you want to accomplish and during crunch times (Ex. 2 hours of deep work in your day) write your schedule out in 15-minute increments! I am at home for a good portion of the day so I add housework to my to-do list too, laundry, dishwasher, etc. When I’m feeling tired or bored I’ll go rush to see how quickly I can unload and load the dishwasher. I know this sounds silly, but the more you have on your to-do list the more variety you have in your day. I get tired when I’ve been working on the same tasks for hours which is why I switch it up and go do some other productive activity for a little while.
When you stay consistent and look at all that you are able to accomplish in your day, you start to change your mindset and how you view your to-do list. The list becomes exciting, a challenge, a game that improves your life. It’s no longer a dreaded list of tasks. Remember, 2-3 Targets & a variety of to-dos. And sprinkle it all with consistency.
I’ve gone through many different planners and ultimately created my own daily dose of scheduling and goal writing pdf. You can upload it to canva and personalize the times for yourself. During the deep work time of my day, my tasks are divided into 15-minute increments. I fill out the schedule, to-do’s, and targets before going to bed and write my goals in the morning to stay focused and motivated. I hope it helps! You’ll notice that there are large chunks of times missing in the daily schedule this is because those times are when I do the same thing every day, so I don’t waste time filling out what I’m going to do then.
